Why this matters
Entry Permits let you arrive; Residence + Emirates ID let you live, bank, insure and work. In premium private care, onboarding stalls if your medical fitness or biometrics are late or incomplete. Run this process cleanly and your start date holds.
The sequence at a glance
Entry Permit issued by employer/PRO.
Arrival in UAE (or in-country status change).
Medical Fitness (blood tests + chest X-ray; location booked by HR/PRO).
Emirates ID biometrics (fingerprints + face at ICP service centre).
Residence Visa stamping/issuance → Emirates ID card printed.
Hospital credentialing/privileging completes in parallel, then start date.
Rule: keep your passport-exact name on every form; middle names are not optional.
Documents to prepare (colour PDFs ready)
Passport (≥ 6 months validity) and Entry Permit
UAE mobile number active (for OTPs)
Passport photo (recent, plain background) in digital copy
Tenancy/company housing letter (if HR requests)
Vaccination/medical records if employer advises (some roles require proof)
Any prior UAE ID number (if you’ve lived in the UAE before)
Medical Fitness: what to expect
Tests: standard blood panel + chest X-ray.
Fasting: not usually required; follow clinic instructions if given.
Result windows: typically 24–72 hours once completed (expedite options may exist).
Retests/clarifications: attend immediately if called—onboarding waits for a “Fit” result.
Practical tips
Arrive early with Entry Permit and passport.
Wear easy clothing (quick X-ray positioning).
Keep proof of payment/receipt for HR/PRO uploads.
Emirates ID biometrics: how to do it right
Booking: HR/PRO books; you receive an SMS with location/time.
At the centre: fingerprints (all), facial capture, and document checks.
Afterwards: you’ll get a digital confirmation; physical ID follows after Residence issuance.
Common blockers
Missed SMS → confirm your UAE number is correct and has SMS enabled.
Name mismatches → ensure the application shows your full passport name (including middle names).
No-shows → rebooking delays everything; attend the first offered slot.
Timelines & signals (indicative, not guarantees)
Medical Fitness: 1–3 days from appointment to result.
Biometrics: usually same-day capture; card print after Residence issue.
Residence Visa: a few days once medical + biometrics are cleared and uploads are complete.
Your employer’s PRO controls most steps—reply fast to any message requesting documents or confirmations.
Where this sits with licensing
DHA/DOH/SCFHS/QCHP licensing, PSV/DataFlow, and credentialing/privileging can run in parallel if your document pack is clean.
You may only start clinical work when Residency + Licence + Privileges are all active.
Common pitfalls—and calm fixes
Passport name inconsistencies across forms → update to passport-exact (all names) before appointments.
Skipping appointments due to travel → plan travel around your medical/biometrics window.
Old UAE mobile or roaming only → insert an active local SIM for OTPs/SMS.
Partial scans (cropped stamps) → rescan in colour, full page, for HR uploads.
Late document responses → answer HR/PRO messages the same day.
